Do you collect anything? I seem to have a thing for chickens and my friends know it. I have chicken everything!!
My friend, Dottie gave me this nesting chicken for Christmas. It's adorable and I love it. I think I will be serving some soup or veggies in it soon!!

Want to make soup an elegant experience? Serve it in an elegant bowl and enjoy. I picked up these pieces at an antique store for short money a few years ago and love using them to create an elegant table with many people afraid to touch the "fine" china!!

By now you may have figured out that I am chicken obsessed - both live and representations!! This tabletop is all about chickens.
From the runner that I've bragged about in the past with great fabric from England called "Feather and Egg," to the mugs and napkin holders I found on eBay a few years ago. It's fun to have a collection of items and a theme for your tabletop.
What are your favorite tabletop themes?

The tradition that I created was simplicity -- make a few fish dishes that are a snap, set up a buffet table and then enjoy each other around a roaring fire!!

For right now, my everyday before Christmas tabletop is a fantastic 12 Days of Christmas cookie jar from Williams-Sonoma, combined with a table runner that I made this summer with feathers and eggs. The red color does the trick for me. I add a hint of green with the candles in my antique English barley twist candlesticks. Simple is good. And the hidden treat is better!!
Happy Solstice!!

The winter landscape often offers that perfect hint of color for your flower arrangements. Here, I added winterberry and inkberry to a store-bought bouquet. Just looking at it makes me happy!
