Marijka is half dutch and half English, and her European roots seem to have dominated her life. Marika grew up in Seattle in suburbia but notes subtle differences in her dining experiences as compared to her friends. Marika’s adult life has her cooking for a wheat free husband and a sugar-free daughter. These restrictions were embraced, and Marika journaled to make family dining a positive and delicious experience. She now writes a blog called Cooking Up Stories. Her kids welcome her to share many of the recipes that they now treasure, and the many and valued stories that surround them.
