David is a true southerner! He was born in Texas and has lived in both the Carolinas and Virginia. David’s southerner cooking roots were established by his mother’s baking traditions. His mother ensured that there was always a sweet treat in the house! As David has gone through life and received a doctorate in higher education, he began to realize that baking and cooking were his true passions. While working on his dissertation, he used baking as an escape. Now, David works with national brands on recipe development and recipe testing. David also writes a food blog called Spiced, where he shares his love of baking and grilling.
