Sour Milk Spice Cake

Cake Ingredients

½ cup vegetable oil
1 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 cup sour milk
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp cloves
1 cup raisins
½ cup nuts

Butter Cream Frosting Ingredients

½ cup (1 stick) butter softened
1 lb package confectioners sugar
1 tsp vanilla
½ tsp almond extract
boiling water


Mix all the ingredients together.  Then add the raisins, nuts or other ‘goodies’ of choice.  Pore into an 8x8-inch greased baking pan.  Bake at 305°F for 20-30 minutes (for cupcakes 15-20 min.)

Beat butter, sugar, vanilla and almond extract together.  Continue to beat while adding boiling water little by little until it is a spreadable consistency.
